Behind the fabric, the color and the style, the idea of the recliner predates the era of mass production. After a lull in popularity during the nineteen seventies, the recliner has once again become an essential piece of living room furniture.
Just take a look at the modern computer chair as an example of a simple recliner. Most office chairs do recline today. This allows you to lean back to rest your back and shoulders while typing or talking on the phone.
Recliners are also undergoing a revolution in terms of evolution. Many are now integrating various electronic and mechanical features, making them much more than a passive recliner in the living room.
A rocker‐recliner does exactly what the name says. It rocks as well as reclines. Many people even use their recliners to rest alternatively of a bed. A rocker recliner is also a favorite with nursing mothers because it gives comfort for the mother while the rocking‐motion relaxes the baby. Most rocker recliners could have a swivel characteristic added for an extra cost.
A lift ‐chair is a recliner with a motorized mechanism that shoves the "chair" up from it’s base, making it easier to get up from the seat. Lift chairs come in dissimilar shapes or sizes, so it’s easy to find one to fit every‐body type. This type of recliner is usually notably more high‐priced than rockers or wall‐huggers.
